11.5 billion! China's first deep tunnel drainage project started
The Hangzhou Southwest Drainage Project, surveyed and designed by East China Survey and Design Research Institute Co., Ltd, officially started construction.
According to reports, the project is the first deep tunnel drainage project implemented in China, and also the deep tunnel drainage system project with the largest drainage scale, the largest diameter and the largest buried depth in China.
Through the backbone channel project and a deep tunnel that with 55m depth, total 29kms and a maximum drainage capacity of 300 cubic meters per second, the project drains the floodwater in the west of Hangzhou to the Qiantang River。
